Highland Fit
Hiking is as we see it about being 'Highland Fit' and more about endurance than speed for sure. It is not uncommon up here to see 70+ folk out on the top of Munros who look as if they have just walked 100m down to the local shop. They are never in a hurry but somehow still hike at speed and most importantly they still take in everything around them. There are old crofters, some 6th generation, who have become our friends who could outstrip most decent runners after 30 miles over hill and down glen. If you were to ask them if they had ever run in their youth they would look at you as if you were mad!
The CampX Adventurers
Jonathan and Graham first met in a Berber Tent in the Sahara whilst taking part in the Marathon Des Sables multi-stage desert race. They have since competed together in many events, but always with Graham patiently waiting for Jonathan to join him at the end. They have shared kayaks and bivouaks through numerous endurance competitions and won firsts in age group in the same Guernsey marathon.
