For many, this day will allow you to rest your tired limbs before the final big push on the Coast 2 Coast.

That said, what is lost in sweat and strain can be more than compensated for with excitement and challenge, with many opportunities to spend a few hours doing something completely out of your comfort zone. From shooting & off road motorsports, a paragliding taster or further exploration of the highlands by pedal, foot or paddle. Or indeed if you really want to chill before day four we can arrange to visit local tourist attractions.

Shoot

As a part of our R & R day we offer the opportunity of both Rifle Target Shooting and Clay Pigeon Shooting on the grounds. We will make this both fun and competitive and for those who chose this sport for a part of their R & R day we will combine the scores for both disciplines and award a very cheap and unmemorable trophy to the winner. Boys be aware, ladies are far more intuitive where this challenge is concerned and will invariably win!

Quads & Trials

As a part of the R&R Day we offer an xc moto experience on our grounds. For those who already enjoy the 'off road' experience or who would like to give it a try we offer the opportunity to drive or ride off-road vehicles either on farm tracks or, for the more adventurous, on hill climbs and trials courses.

Be a Tourist

There are some beautiful places to explore in the area but two things you should really do when in Scotland are visit a castle and sample some Whisky. The architecturally stunning (some would say shocking) Dunrobin Castle, is the largest in the Northern Highlands and one of our favourite tourist places to visit, complete with formal gardens, quirky museum and falconry displays. The Glenmorangie distillery is also nearby offering tours and tastings. Our second favourite place to visit! CampX will help arrange visits to any attractions that take your fancy. We might even join you if it involves whisky!

Test Your Endurance

For those that wish to keep up the momentum and continue to test their endurance, we will undertake to find you the necessary pain - there are hills everywhere!

Clocking up the elevation running Munros, Grahams and highland trails are challenging. If you need to open your legs for speed work, or some easy miles, we also have some undulating well marked paths around Loch Migdale or the option for a beach session at Dornoch to punish your calves. Both with the option of cold water recovery baths on immediate hand.

Chill & Thrill

If you fancy a change of physical pace, but with a thrill or two thrown in, we offer up various activities to include but not limited to Wild Swimming, XC Motor Sport including Quads and Trials, and a Paragliding taster experience (winds permitting), on our own 'Hop Hill'. You can see why this might be our favourite day!

The CampX Adventurers

Jonathan and Graham first met in a Berber Tent in the Sahara whilst taking part in the Marathon Des Sables multi-stage desert race. They have since competed together in many events, but always with Graham patiently waiting for Jonathan to join him at the end. They have shared kayaks and bivouaks through numerous endurance competitions and won firsts in age group in the same Guernsey marathon.
